An extra special welcome to the Lights Film School community!

Hello there! It’s been a while! Michael from Lights Film School here, keen to share some exciting news with you.

If you’re coming from Lights Film School’s educational program and popular indie filmmaking blog, then you may recall that they were all about helping you make movies. Leading such a vibrant community of 1000s of creatives from around the world was an incredibly rewarding experience for me, and although Lights Film School closed a while ago, the spirit of it lives on in my new project here, The Lighthouse - an extension of the passion for filmmaking we all share!

The Lighthouse is my new Substack publication dedicated to exploring the worlds of cinema, travel, and storytelling. Together, we’ll dive deep into the intersection of film and culture, drawing on my many years of life abroad and as a “nomad” on the road.

This means you can expect in-depth film analysis, inspiring stories from my travels, and insightful reflections on how the art and craft of cinema helps us see the world - and ourselves - more clearly.
